Honeywell has been selected by Valio, the largest milk producer in Finland, to provide a production automation system for a new plant producing high-quality, demineralised whey powder at its complex in Lapinlahti, Finland. The Lapinlahti site is being designed to the strictest hygiene, food safety and energy efficiency standards. Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) will deploy the Experion Process Knowledge System, unifying process, assets and people in order to boost business agility, and allowing existing Valio process equipment to integrate into the new automation system. The company will also modify the architecture of Valio’s existing Process History Database.
