The KATflow 170 ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter is suited for the offshore, oil, gas and petrochemical industry, as it meets the ATEX regulations. Manufactured to IP66 standard and equipped with galvanically isolated process in- and outputs, the field transmitter is designed for installation in Zone 1/2 classified hazardous areas. It offers up to two flow channels and can be equipped with AC, DC or power supplies such as battery or solar panels. Set-up programming is done with a magnet pen, which guarantee ATEX compliance. It comprises passive or active current process inputs and three process output types, consisting of active current, digital open collector and digital relay ones. Measurement data is stored on the internal datalogger for 30.000 or 100.000 samples and be downloaded via the infrared, RS 232 or RS 485/Modbus RTU serial interfaces. The clampon sensors cover a pipe diameter range from 10 to 3,000mm. The sensor can be operated in temperatures ranging from -20 to 120 °C.
