GEMÜ China celebrated its 10th anniversary under the slogan "Growing together" together with the German and Swiss management as well as the persons responsible from the German sales team. The Shanghai subsidiary of the German specialist for valve, measurement and control systems presented the accomplished as well as the targets for the next ten years. Uwe Schmezer, Sales Manager for the Asian region, quoted the Chinese proverb "It is easy to open a shop; it is difficult to keep it open” during the anniversary event. “Together we not only succeeded in keeping the shop in China open but have also achieved consistent growth during the past years”, he stressed. GEMÜ China was established in 1998 solely as a representative office in the German centre in Shanghai. Two employees started in a small office with sized approximately 10 sqm. Today the enterprise employs more than 80 co-workers at six locations and maintains its own manufacturing plant for the local market.
