Emerson has acquired Valvulas, Accesorios y Maquinarias SAC (VAMSAC), a leading provider of automation and industrial control solutions to companies in Peru in the mining, oil and gas, refining, chemicals, and food and beverage industries. VAMSAC, based in Lima, has been in business since 1989 and has been an authorized representative of Emerson Process Management since 1993. VAMSAC will become part of the Emerson Process Management business.

The acquisition provides Emerson Process Management with a direct presence in Peru where it has a growing roster of customers. With the completed acquisition, Emerson will have immediate access to VAMSAC’s experienced and skilled sales staff, engineers and technicians and will be able to leverage VAMSAC’s capabilities and expertise in serving Peru’s mining sector. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“Peru is an emerging market with strong growth projections for our core customer industries, including oil and gas, metals and mining, power generation and chemical production. With the acquisition of VAMSAC, we expand our capabilities and expertise to serve our customers in Peru directly,” said Leo Rodriguez, president of Emerson Process Management Latin America. “We are very excited to make this commitment to the Peruvian market and look forward to helping customers in Peru operate their production facilities more efficiently and safely.”

The acquisition builds on Emerson’s strategy to establish a strong customer service presence in Latin America. Emerson recently opened a Mining Center of Excellence in Santiago, Chile, to serve as a regional hub to provide services, expertise and technology development for South American mining industry customers to help them achieve their business and operational objectives.
