Parker Hannifin’s AC30V series of variable speed AC drives combine ease-of-use with high levels of control for a wide range of applications including industrial pumps and fans where reliable, accurate motor speed control are key requirements. Offered in three frame sizes that cover a power range of 0.75 kW to 18.5 kW with additional drives to extend the power range to 250 kW planned, the AC30V series features optional integrated EMC filtering allowing use in electrically sensitive environments, and is conformally coated to protect against corrosion when used in harsh class 3C3 and 3C4 for Hydrogen Sulphide environments.
The first of a new generation of variable speed drives from Parker, the AC30V series gives effective and affordable control of either AC induction or permanent magnet (PMAC) servo motors. With integrated energy monitoring functionality, the high efficiency drives are able to support the matching of motor speed to varying application demands and so help reduce energy consumption, save money, and extend the mechanical life of motors, pumps and fans and ancillary equipment such as ducting or pipework.
The AC30V series can be mounted as either an IP20 backplate or through-panel drive. A fully enclosed IP54-rated version that offers certified dust and water protection is to be introduced soon. Operating temperature range for the new drives is 0 °C to +50 °C.
Modular design enables the quick-and-easy addition of a range of extensions to suit specific applications. These include popular communications options such as Profinet, Profibus and EtherCAT, plus a comprehensive range of I/O modules. This modularity also reduces inventory requirements and associated costs for distributors and end-users. An intuitive multi-language graphical keypad that can be mounted on the drive or remotely provides access to all drive functions to facilitate fast and easy configuration without expert user knowledge.
The AC30V series operates from a universal 400 / 500 VAC supply voltage and is designed and built to international standards to allow worldwide use.
